Simple moments to cherish

It's the simple little moments that we want to remember... - You always seem to wake up with a smile on your face as we sing "You're my sunshine" - One of my favorite things is to hold your little hand as we walk side by side. - Watch your face light up as you watch "Fresh Beat Band" or "Dora" - I love to hear you say "Momma, Momma, Momma" over and over oh and "UH-oh" is another favorite and it never gets old. - At 1 1/2 you caught on to hum "ABC's", "Twinkle-Twinkle", "Row Row Row your boat" and most recently "Where is thumbkin" - One of Daddy's proud moments is you wanting to eat cereal like a big girl, you can even feed it to yourself w/a spoon! - And you sure are cute and a big firl when you wear your back pack into daycare. - We love to see you play, chase, cuddle and love on Mugsy; you two are quite a pair but we know he isn't your favorite when you're trying to eat. - You have grown such a lively personality and love to copy Daddy when he sings or talks into your microphone. - One thing you have loved since a newborn is music, especially the piano. - And the thing that brings me back each night to the first weeks of finally having you in my arms, is rocking you each night and holding you close as you lay on my shoulder. I will do this as long as you'll let me...because I know these simple moments will soon be memories. Mommy and Daddy love you more than you know Joslyn Grace!

These are a couple of my most favorite/recent pictures. She's 20 months here and has started understanding almost everything we say, she talks to us in jibberish but she's trying and it's awesome. We love you sweet baby J!

She has also become quite the "Dora" fan...she's wearing another Dora shirt and coloring a picture of Dora. (Oh and her toe nails are painted).

2011 Frio River Trip

We took our annual Frio trip in mid June this year.  Due to the drought the water was pretty low, so no tubing.  Also, Jenna and Chris didn't come since they're getting married this year and had limited vacation -- they sure were missed.  Enjoy the scrapbook I created!

Lovin' her "yoyo"

Yesterday Joslyn was sick so I picked her up from daycare around noon.  She was pretty tired and sluggish and didn't have an appetite, the only thing she would eat was graham crackers and yogurt.  Today she feeling much better and eating better too.  BUT after her dinner she ran to the fridge wanting more yogurt...I guess her tummy is still a lil' upset ;)

Homemade Teddy Bear

Joslyn chose this teddy bear as her favorite toy of the week, this teddy bear was made by my Nana (Betty Larriviere) many years ago.  This is too sweet!

Lil' Monkey

She learns something new every week or more like day..so it seems.  She has learned to be a monkey...she can even make the noise!

Lil' Miss Prissy Jos

I caught her playing with nail polish and sunscreen bottles as I was getting ready the other morning.  I added the flower headband to her and thought it was the perfect, cute lil' picture.  I'm a lil' sad it turned out dark, but thought I would share!

Getting a personality!

Joslyn has started to get more of a personality each day, she has been having deep conversations with Tyler and I of course it's all baby talk, but she knows exactly what she is saying and it makes sense to her!  It's cute!  She'll even talk behind the binky, while it's still in her mouth.  I love having these conversations w/her! :)

Another year...31

Last night was my birthday celebration, Papa Pat and Momma Lis watched Joslyn and Parker for the night then we got a group of friends and headed to the Black Swan.  I had so much fun, thank you to all my wonderful friends and family!  I love you all so much!!

"Snow Day"...

Wednesday, February 2, 2011 - Temperatures dropped in Houston...dramatically like by 20 degrees...maybe more...but in middle of the night we lost power -- then we realized our furnace had gone out too.  When we woke up that morning it was in the low 50's inside the house...by that evening it was down to 43 degrees!  Thank goodness Lone Star came to our rescue and fixed it that night!

Thursday, February 3, 2011 - Joslyn's daycare called me at work to tell me they were having early dismissal due to the freezing temperatures and possible snow/ice.  They were closing at 3:00, I picked her up at 1:30 she was in middle of her nap, but once she realized Mommy picked her up to go home I think she was ok w/it.  Once we got home, she continued her nap until 4:00!



Friday, February 4, 2011 - We had a "Snow Day" but really just turned into an "Icy Day in Houston".

Joslyn was being quiet yesterday evening, I found her!

**It's Transition Time**

Joslyn transitioning from baby to big girl, gets me a little nervous and anxious at the same time, I have to admit.  She takes it on as no big problem and has accepted it as a big girl!

January 10, 2011 was her 1 year check-up appointment:
Weight:  20 lbs - 35 percentile
Height:  30 in - 75 percentile
Head:  40 percentile

Transitions for this week so far: 

• From her infant car seat to the convertible face forward car seat -- she loves facing forward and we love to look back and see her smile! 
• Since this weekend is a 3 day weekend, we decided to transition from bottle to sippy cup; this morning was the first attempt and she chugged it!!  I was so proud of her, it was time for her second feeding and she chugged that from a sippy cup!  She eats a little bit of table food here and there but we still have her on formula.  I hope to transition her from formula to milk within a couple of weeks (after she gets over her cold!).

This is how our Jos is growning into a big girl and she has accepted it with flying colors and has surpassed our expectations for sure!! Can you tell we're happy it has gone so well?!
