Baby Joslyn + 5 weeks

Our precious baby, Joslyn Grace was born at TX Woman's hospital in Houston, TX on Thursday - January 7, 2010 @ 5:53 PM.  She weighed 7 lbs 2 oz and was 19 3/4 long!  It was such a wonderful experience, meeting her and seeing her for the first time!  Tyler and I feel so blessed to have such a healthy, happy, good baby.  Sure she has her unhappy moments (doesn't every baby?) she really is a good baby.

The end is near!

Tonight will be the last night for Joslyn to hibernate in my belly...
It's pretty surreal to think she could be here, this time tomorrow.  (BABY UPDATE) - Today we had our doctor's appointment, when Dr. Mata came in, I had her look at my swollen feet then I mentioned and today was my last day of work!  She asked Tyler and I "Do you want to be induced tomorrow???"  meaning..Thursday, all along Tyler and I thought Friday...Tyler's response "I have to work!" HAHAH, I thought that was super funny...we both were in shock, I just sat there in silence for about 15 seconds, then I said "Sure~!"  So this is where we are at now, we'll be induced on Thursday, Jan. 7, 20l0 - we aren't sure on what time yet, we have to call in the morning at 5:30 to Woman's hospital to see what time we need to arrive for the induction.  That's pretty funny to think we're setting a time to have our baby, after all these 41 weeks, wow!  Thursday could be an eventful day in Houston, could there be snow (again?) and will she be here during the 4th quarter of the National Championship game (as Ms. Redwine has predicted)???  We shall see!!  This little sweet thing, already knows how to make her debut into the world...well I guess she is getting a little help, but that's fine by me.  Please keep us in your prayers that she makes it here safely and that the delivery goes well.  I know she can't wait to meet all of you!  OH and by the way, from what the doctor has said, by the size of my belly, lil' Joslyn will be quite an oinker...Dr. Mata thinks she'll weigh between 7.5-8lbs, I was in shock, yet again!  But I guess I can believe it because in the past 2 weeks, I have gained 9 lbs! 
(I hope this all makes sense, I feel that I'm typing/rambling on adrenaline), if you can't tell, I'm super excited!  I can't wait to hold her and see her precious little face!  I sure hope I'll be able to sleep tonight, I know I will need it!  ~Mommy and Daddy already love you so much Joslyn!

Still waiting for Joslyn...

We are still patiently waiting for Joslyn to arrive, her due date was January 1, 2010.  Although, that would have been a great birthday for her to have, I guess there are more reasons why she hasn't made it into our world just yet.  The waiting game, is very hard, it has taught Tyler and I patience...for sure.  Since tomorrow is Monday (Jan. 4) and still no labor signs or baby, I guess I will head into work...my next doc appt is on Wed (the day it'll possibly snow, again)...I'm thinking Wed. will be my last day to work, maybe Tues.  It's so strange how all along I kept thinking she would be here (early)...I never had imagined her being this late, but in a way it's good since there were a couple of very important people that were out of town this weekend.  I'm glad that they will be back in town for Joslyn's arrival!  If Joslyn continues to keep us waiting...the doctor will induce on Friday, Jan. 8.  So until then, we will continue to wait and pray for our lil' angel to get here!

Patiently Waiting!

I went to my 37 week doctor appointment, today I am 37 weeks & 5 days.  It went well, there's progress to us all meeting Joslyn, but not much.  I am still at 1 cm and am 50% effaced, which is very exciting, but Dr. Mata doesn't expect her to arrive early.  She projects her to arrive right on time (Jan. 1) or a little later...that is unless my water breaks.  (So I guess I better get to walking LOL).  Time will tell, I know we're all so anxious to meet her, but like my Mom said, "once she gets here, she'll be here forever"  :)  So the next 15 days will be Tyler's and my last days as a couple w/o kids!  Wow it's strange still to think we're going to be parents.  Fun times ahead.  We can't wait for your arrival Joslyn!

Home Sweet Home!

I was lucky enough to leave work early today, due to the snow, but my co-workers also threw me a surprise baby shower!  It was so thoughtful of them, I received a box of 288 diapers!!!  This will help us out so much!  We also had subway sandwiches and yummy cake!  It looks like 2009 will end with our little angel coming into the world.  We can't wait to meet you Joslyn, we love you so much!

Two weeks ago, at our last doctor appointment, Miss Joslyn measured small.  Go fig, look at her Momma :) 
She measured at 30 weeks when I was really 32 weeks.  The doctor wasn't concerned with her being small, but to be safe she went ahead and scheduled me to have an ultrasound before my next 2 week visit; which was today.  We received great news, she's a healthy baby the radiologist even said she has a great personality ;)  She would just move around and have her lil' hands in her face, I already love her so much.  Joslyn is within 41 percentile and weighs 4.9 lbs!  We have approx. 5 weeks to go before she's here...we'll see by then how much more she gains.  It's pretty funny because I will sing the song "Baby Beluga"...and it looks like she will be very healthy once she arrives!  Tyler and I cannot believe she's almost here!  Here is her letting us know that all is ok with her!  We adore her already!

This past Sunday, Joslyn had the nicest baby shower; hosted by Aunt Dayna, Aunt Jenna and Gigi. They did a really good job and we thank you, each of you from the bottom of our hearts. Also, the room was filled with love by all the family and friends that came, we really appreciate all that was there! We feel so thankful to have all of you in our lives!

Goodbye Oct, Hello Nov!

The past couple weekends have been busy with: friends babyshowers, finishing Joslyn's room, family reunion, a couple of Texans games, Tyler's 32nd bday and Halloween. The family reunion was for my Mom's side of the family, it was held at Salmon lake, it was really relaxing out there; it was also the same weekend of Tyler's bday. Tyler and I went to McCormick & Schmick's for dinner, it was yummy! That same weekend Tyler went to the 49ers vs Texans game with Zach, Tomas, JJ, Skopal and Wally...I'm sure more fun memories were made. On Halloween we went over to Dayna & Curtis's to see Miss Piggy, she was so adorable, by the end of the night the trick or treater's costumes were scarying her -- even a little girl dressed as a candy corn!

A Perfect Weekend!

Boy, did God bless TX with a beautiful weekend! We tried to enjoy being outside as much as possible, Friday started with taking Mugsy to the new dog park down the street...he loved it! Saturday, I met Ginny for lunch then Steve, Deb and Chad came over to help us finish Joslyn's room. It's almost complete and I love it (pictures coming soon)! Sunday, was our lazy day and ended with a visit to the grocery store aka our second home :) We hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

This morning, we had a 3d/4d ultrasound to get a closer glimpse of what our lovebug will look like. We think we interruptted her nap time, as she didn't move around much and we were able to catch catch several big yawns along with her rubbing her eyes (but this could of been because the bright light that was shining on her). Here are several pictures of her, she's simply perfect. We feel so blessed and already love her so much!
